Charity Parnership - The Harley Jae Trust

Stepping Stones is a proud supporter of the Harley Jae Trust

Since 2017 Stepping Stones Day Nursery based in Nottingham City Centre has supported the Harley Jae Trust as their first ever charity business partner.

The Harley Jae Trust has raised over £180,000 since it was opened by chairman Joseph Rafter as a tribute to his son Harley Jae who suffered from a rare neurological condition, Harley was one of only two children in the entire world to have the condition at this time.

A bit about the Harley Jae Trust

The Trust was set up in 2006 to support Harley with vital medical equipment that was required to aid in his development and make his life more comfortable.

On February 22nd 2013 Harley Jae sadly passed away and the Harley Jae Trust became a registered charity so that they could provide equipment to children at the Paediatric Critical Care Unit at the Queens Medical Centre.

Recently, the trust has purchased items such as Bugaboo pushchairs which has allowed children that have never left the ward to be able to finally go home and most recently iPads to further develop the incredible skills of the workers on the ward.

Stepping Stones Fundraising and Support

In September 2017 Stepping Stones became the Harley Jae Trusts first and only charity business parent and has made a monthly donation to the Trust. Our staff and children have also supported the Trust through the following events:

We held a sponsored Bear Hunt as it had been 40 years since ‘We’re going on a Bear Hunt’ was released. More information and some pictures from the day can be found here.
