The next two weeks at Stepping Stones. In the Yellow Room Over the next two weeks in the yellow room, all our activities are based around Christmas! December 4th – 15th We will be introducing more sensory play, for example spaghetti and wet sand for all babies to experiment with encouraging them to start making marks, we will also be making Christmas cards and decorations. We will be encouraging babies to pull themselves up on to the furniture and to start taking steps using the walkers provided. We will also be exploring treasure baskets and exploratory play. Al activities are based around the first 100 words and help encourage noise making. In Red Room In the next two weeks, in the red room we are focusing on animals as the children are showing high interest in all of our animal toys. This will include activities such as playing with sea animals in water and sand, farm animals in hay/grass. We will be using flash cards to match our animals with the matching word/sound. We will also be introducing our song of the month which is ‘Old McDonald’ All these activities enhance the toddler’s speech as we will be using words such as; little, big, dry, wet, up and down. We will also be starting our Christmas cards for those who celebrate and various other creative activities such as hand and feet painting which not only encourages creativity it links to our next steps on sensory play. In Green Room 1 we will also continue to have our car track out, focusing on our key words such as; stop, go, fast and slow.
